Veidt's Makeup

To anyone who can help,
I'm going to try and do a makeup like Veidt's in this film. Can anyone direct me to some suggestions or how it was done in the film? Pierce did a fine job, I'm hoping to come close.
Thanks in advance!

Over-sized dentures, hooks in the teeth to pull back sides of the mouth. Voìla!

And ironically, it was none other than the master, Lon Chaney, who was originally slated for the role of Gwynplaine!

(x Designerfake, I like your signature line. I'm just glad that he didn't break his son's neck! ;-D)

What in the world makes you say that?

reply

Because even though he was the director's first choice, he was under contract to MGM, who would not have loaned him to Universal,or to any studio for that matter.
