The Duchess (played by Olga) looked a lot like Madonna (back when she first started) in several scenes.

What do you think? :)

Thought it here too....Olga really did when she was younger...in Freaks no so much..

LOL it's funny that she really look like Madonna. I just watched the movie and I thought the same. And the Joker too by the way. I know that any of my friends or family never saw this so it's nice to share! eheh. Thanks imdb for this laughing experience. Who would ever guess this from a 1928 movie.. Life is always surprising us..

The reason why you thought of the Joker is because the Joker is based on Gwynplaine by the makeup Veidt used for the character.

I came to these message boards before I saw this movie. When I saw this movie I thought "ah, this is the Madonna lookalike they must be talking about". They are identical.

I just saw the film for the first time and was thinking the same. She does look like Madonna.
