H. Scott Salinas's New 2002 Score

Who heard this and agrees its beautiful?

I thought it enhanced the mood even more while it played. I haven't heard the original score for this film, but somehow I doubt it was close to being this sad and cheery all at the same time.

Stuff like this reminds me of "Movie Poop Shoot.com" from Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

I thought it was great. The theme he uses for the opening and closing and places therein are very touching.

I swear I have to see this movie again. I love the music so much I forgot to look at the movie. That is why I came over here to find out about the music. I read the composer won some award for this soundtrack. I wonder if has done any other work.

It was wonderful music. But my favorite contemporary score of Chaney's is from The Unknown (the Alloy Orchestra).

I never heard or saw the saw the movie. I have to check it out. Thanks.

They actually travel and do concerts for silent movies...I plan on seeing them do Phantom of the Opera in the spring! :D

Wow that's interesting My grandmothers sister use play the music in the theaters for movies back in the teens and 20's.

I thought it was beautiful and that it fit the film. The only theme that I felt was out of place was the jovial theme they had while Flik was on stage in one scene. I felt that they should have still gone with a mournful tune. As the audience in the film laughs with the clown, the audience outside of the film sympathizes with him. That aside, I thought it was a truly beautiful score. I particularly liked the way that he gave each of the characters their own signature instrument.

I completely agree. I wonder if it's a recreation of the original score or if it was composed later for the restored version... It has a sad, melancholic quality that is haunting, and beautiful.
