Loretta Young was a only 14 or 15

She was a beautiful, stunning, fragile young girl when this film was made. She certainly had a very unusual, captivating quality about her throughout her career. I have just seen this film and it's wonderful to see how unique she was at such a young age.
I love watching her in "The Bishop's Wife". Absolutely beautiful skin, lovely temperment and eyes you could get lost in. Cary Grant was so perfect with her in that film that I truly wished she had been able to wind up with him, not David Niven. Ah, well! It's just a movie. This film has a much sadder story ending . . .
