Has coolest marriage scene in cinema!

I loved the film, and the entire von Sternberg silent trilogy boxed set from The Criterion Collection. I was just wondering who out there agreed with me that the scene in which they're married in the bar, late at night, by the priest whose ad is seen plastered throughout the city earlier in the film, was the most outstanding I had ever seen. The only one I feel can even compare is the one in The Graduate. Breathtaking cinema, and I dare to add that the silent trilogy--each of which I would honestly and gladly rate a 10/10--is far better than anything von Sternberg ever did in colour or sound, even with Marlene Dietrich.

Loved that scene. He created a very unique atmosphere.

Cool? It was embarrassing and sad, and maybe the least romantic marriage scene. For cool marriage scene try Matrimaniac (1916).

I'll keep my eyes open for it--I love silent cinema. Thanks for the heads up about it.
