The Film Society of Lincoln Center's February 2008 movie guide mentions that Beggars of Life will play there on April 25th, with the Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra accompanying.
This is most likely the new print from George Eastman House that was done around 2005-2006. Supposed to be MUCH better than the Grapevine version that's been floating around for some years.

Are you going to be able to view the film on April 25th. I envy you if you can.
I don't know if there will be a DVD. But the film has been on a road trip for several months, which is usually a good sign...

I assume that you were able to see the film in NY. Was there any mention in the program of this film being cleaned up and available on in the DVD format? I have the version that Grapevine video put out, but it hasn't been cleaned up and I would so like to see this film available as a restored work.
