Radiohead

Now that I have your attention, frankly I couldn't watch the movie with its original soundtrack. It just felt too melodramatic. To make it sound edgy, I watched it with Radiohead's Kid A playing in the background and never did I feel that the movie went out of sync. Towards the end I saw it with In Rainbows playing in the background which again wasn't bad either.

Let me know if you have ever tried this and what music you used.
Please share your experiences in case you have done something similar with this movie.

Hmm, I might try this considering how much I love Radiohead.
Think OK Computer would work as well?

I thought no one would reply. Please share the experience (if you go ahead and do it).

i just got it on blu ray, and was wondering what alternative music to use, ill give Kid A a go.

Edit: quick question which version of the film are you using? also where do you start the music from?

I am not sure of the version of the film (it runs for about 94mins) but you can start the album at the credits itself.

cool, on the bluy ray, there are two versions i believe the 94 min is the american version, ill give it a go.

ok i gave it a go using the Kid A album... it really didnt work for me and took me out of the expirence only made it as far as how to dissapear completley before i had to stop it.

Alternativley i used the score for the social network, i was only able to get a couple of tracks in as i had to be somewhere else, so will start again maybe tonight, but felt it worked a lot better.

Ok.....I guess you would have to keep on experimenting. You might want to use NIN's Ghosts (I,II,III,IV)which is similar to Social Networks OST and they would be good for continuity.

I didn't try the Radiohead soundtrack for this film, but you are a damn genius, that's for sure! I love both 'Sunrise' and RH!

reply

Gonna try it with Hail to the Thief!

This reminds me of a version of Metropolis I saw on YouTube that had music from Skinny Puppy as the soundtrack. It was pretty awesome, wish it hadn't been taken down.

I used The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway by Genesis; blew my goddamn mind. They're even the same length.

Was thinking of watching this alongside Les Ralliz Dénudés' 'Live '77' album

I did something similar, but not with Radiohead (if I ever watch it again maybe I'll try that). What I watched it with was a collection of Donovan songs. Some worked pretty good, some not so much, but a slightly different tracklist / order might have nailed it.
