Ramon Novarro - Never to be forgotten!

What a great star this man was!

I never cared to know about his private life only that he was so magnificent on screen. I truly appreciate these stars now and wish that others would realize how much these actors & actresses struggled to make it back in a very, very young Hollywood!

Ramon sparkles in this film and the love between the two is so convincing.

Hurrah for Hollywood!

I'm about to read a biography of him by an author (named "Soares" I believe).

Never is a pretty long time.

Ramon Novarro looks like a second-rate John Gilbert. You say he "sparkled" in this film but I think that was just the light reflected off his medals or maybe his teeth. He was OK but I kept thinking how much better the movie would have been with John Gilbert playing the princely role.

Ramon was better than usual in this silent, but the story is dated and the movie was average for me.

I totally agree: In his silent films, Mr. Navarro had charisma, and then some! Had the whole "boyish good looks" thing going on, too. This and "Ben Hur" have always been my two personal favourites of his films.

He's great in "The Pagan", as well.
