I wondered if he was alive when her scathing book about her adopted mom came out in the 70's. Considering Joan was a good friend, I wondered if he expressed his opinion?
shareNope. Christina published her book in 1978, the year after her mother died, and Mr. Haines had been gone for several years by then. I think it's safe to say he wouldn't have approved of the book, but we have no way of knowing that for sure.
