Hi! Nice to hear from a fellow HEAVEN-ly fan :-)!!! Thanks for the info about the BFI web site. It seems like they do so much more in the UK about preserving and releasing these wonderful films than they do here in the States. Don't you think so?

Anyway, are you a fan of just the movie or a Janet G. fan as well. If you are, check out a piece I wrote that was published on the web a few months ago on my friendship with Janet. The direct URL is --

www.things-and-other-stuff.com/movies/profiles/janet-gaynor.htm

Hope you enjoy it. I'm also offering an extended version (approx. 25 pages of story and I've just added 21 photos from my collection!!!) for $5 and a 9x12 self-addressed envelope. I'm in the process of updating it and adding the photos now -- it's gonna look great :-D!!!

Well, girllib, I've gotta go now. Stay in touch.

Warm regards,
Gina L. :-)

I actually wrote to BFI regarding their mysterious 'Winter 2006' Borzage release. They said they were still looking for 'better elements'. It might take years before we see these great Borzage's silents on DVD. What a pity!

reply

Hi! What did they mean by "better elements"? Any idea?

Best wishes,
Gina :-D

Hi Gina
i just read what you wrote about your friendship with Janet Gaynor, i couldn't believe my eyes ! i'm so jealous of you !
And i learned that she played with Lew Ayres in an episode of Love Boat (How come !) Lew Ayres ?
the same who played in The Kiss by Feyder with Garbo ?
Then i was sad to read about her accident, i wasn't aware of it.
in the end, it's a very moving text you wrote about Janet.
I'm grateful you did it.
By the way i'm the one who put online the 7th heaven page you mention.
that's funny ! don't you think ?

Hi, Philippe!!! Sorry for not getting back to you sooner -- things have been insane lately at work and I haven't had 5 minutes to myself!!!!! Glad you liked my story on the web -- it's been a labour of love. She was a very special Lady and an even more special friend and I'll love her always.

Anyway, gotta run (I'm at work!!) -- I'll try to post on the Heaven web site soon.

Love,
Gina :-D

the film itself and the elements which make up the film. They're likely looking for other copies (prints) of the film to try and locate scenes which aren't in as good a condition as they want in what materials they currently have available for use.

May this find you happy and healthy.
