I was watching a little of it. The synopsis says it's an all black cast, but the lead actress looked white to me. If that was the case it certainly would have broke a lot of boundaries for the time.

She appears biracial, but plenty of black women looked (and still look) like that. She could just be fair-skinned with processed hair. So, who knows?

The actress (Lucia Lynn Moses--this was her only film) was black, she was also light-skinned, which probably meant she was bi-racial too, Like Fredi Wasihngton, who starred in the original IMITATION OF LIFE.

I was watching that night, and hate to admit it, but I didn't know they made silent films with all or mainly black casts. And the roles seemed better and more complex than most, even years later, for black actors. Besides that, good film.

Taped it and watched it this weekend.

Very under-rated movie. Nice twists in the plot. Excellent silent that should get more recognition
