Two observations

One of the title cards for the dialogue has Laurel's character exclaim 'wimmen!' I thought this a strange word to use especially as radical feminism several decades later suggested women be called wimmin.

Also Laurel's kilt is blow up several times when he stands over a street vent. An inspiration for MM's famous scene in The Seven Year Itch ..?

Very funny silent film from the duo.

The first observation is a coincidence. Popeye also said "wimmin". It was just a funny colloquial form of the word. The feminists who suggested it decades later probably were not aware of its former comical usage.

The second observation may very well be true!
