Eisenstein had to remove most of the footage featuring Trotsky. The re-editing caused the film to be reduced to a little over three quarters of it's intended length.
Now does anyone know if the original cut or the missing Trotsky scenes still exists?

IMDb's list of runtimes says that a restored 142 minute version was released in Finland in 2007. That's a lot of extra footage: I'd be very surprised if Trotsky didn't feature in some of it.
