Music In Restoration on TCM

My feedback to that music used in the restoration of this film played on TCM. I hated it and it made me turn off the movie pretty early in.

I found the restoration music to be very harsh & disjointed, as if played by someone who was only just beginning to take lessons.

Maria Newman, who composed the music for TCM's restoration of Mr. Wu, is not exactly popular with silent film buffs. The general complaint about her music is that it competes with the images and draws attention to itself, rather than supporting the movie, as silent film accompaniment is supposed to do. In the case of Mr. Wu I feel the criticism is absolutely justified.
