Glass Magic Lantern Slides of 'King of Kings'

Greetings, all.

My grandfather, Rev. G.R. Andrews was technical advisor on "King of Kings"

Upon my own father's death I came into possession of 66 hand-tinted, color glass magic lantern slides of production stills from the film. They are in a fitted wooden case and in excellent condition.

The slide set was a prototype for a marketing campaign aimed at church congregations. The plan was never implemented. Hence, this prototype set is the only one in existence. 18 years of extensive research have conclusively confirmed this.

I am interested in selling. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I should procede? I felt that people with a demonstrated interest in the film would be a very good place to start.

My advice is to donate it to a film archive. That way they are taken care of and maybe the public will be able to see them. Seems like that is the right thing to do. Good Luck!

Hi! That's amazing!

i know this is a super-old post---but, there is a show called Hollywood Treasures, based in L.A. They travel all around the country to out of the way places, to seek old and cool Hollywood treasures and memorial items to sell at auction, or to buy outright. Many sellers make upwards of thousands of dollars, whichever option they choose. It's all aired on t.v. and makes for some fascinating movie tribute t.v. I'm sure they would LOVE to get their hands on those items you're selling

good luck

fine film!!
