The little girl in 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY wanted a bush baby. If it was good enough for her, then it should be good enough for Cantor Rabinowitz. Therefore, my vote: bush baby.

Maybe a "Kippa" (yarmulke or skull-cap). Really, I'm sure if you really knew the Cantor, you'd have an idea of what that man would like.
It was a surprise that the Cantor's wife bought him something so general. Kindof like getting daddy a tie for every occasion.
