What an adorable movie!

I always thought the concept of "It" was just the dream of a publicity hack, but if you watch Clara Bow in this movie, you suddenly realize that IT exists, and Bow had "It" in spades!

What an incredibly adorable woman! Pretty, but not cute, and just full of life. She seems more modern and real than about any actress alive now.

You can't fake it. Bow epitomized it!

This film was charming and sweet. Clara Bow was full of beauty and charisma.

Yes, she was definately the original It Girl. Not too many have been able to have that tag and live up to it and most certainly none during todays times!

If only you knew...
The concept of 'It' was written up by Elinor Glyn, who basically invented the modern harlequin romance novel. She was a hack writer; her books were turgid and horribly written, but always contained just enough salaciousness to scandalize. Consequently, every one had to go out and buy a copy to read it for themselves, making her wealthy and quite well known.

When she moved to Hollywood in 1920, she got it. She understood immediately what Hollywood was about, and quickly became a master of several venerable Hollywood traditions: the publicity stunt, the subtle jab, and the 'accidental' gossip slip.

Bow did have 'It'. However, Glyn was paid a lot of money to proclaim her as 'The It Girl'. In fact she was paid more than Clara was paid to star in the movie.

Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all.

Yeah, she was paid something like $50,000 for "it"!

How's your head, Dave?

Loved this movie, and I thought it showed off the 1920's like no other film...Clara and this movie are a breath of fresh air...I'm also curious as to what happened to the baby, after this film was made, her only role.
