Just wondering if this was in any way connected to their later film of the same title? From the plot outline it doesn't sound like it.

It most certainly was connected. Any true fan would know it as Leo Mcceary worked on both.

No, it's just two entirely different films featuring two different(but both hilarious) comedy teams, but with the same wacky title.
