Most actors and actresses of silent films would appear totally out of place in a modern film. Laura - in close-ups here - has facial features and acting ability that could easily fit into a 2013 film with total believability to today's moviegoer.

According to IMDb, she had a long film career, starting at a very young age.

I agree, but her biographical information indicates that 'talkies' essentially curbed her career. That she was "a natural and appealing presence in early talkies but the huge wave of new stars overshadowed her". Only 23 of her 93 credits are listed as having sound.
