Saw it yesterday - fantastic!
I saw it yesterday on the French-German TV station Arte. It was sensational!
Charley Bowers was completely unknown for me. He remembered me of Chaplin and Keaton.
The special effects were breathtaking. His wonder-juice, the fast growing Weinrebe (Vitis vinifera?) through the clothing of the farmer, the twig of PalmkÃĪtzchen (pussy willow?) in the house with the mice, the growing kitties, the growing tail, the mouse with the mini-revolver. Absolutely amazing.
Also funny, Charley in the big cannon...
There was anoter film, Charley building a big machine in a restaurant, a kind of "food replicator." The growing peas, then the growing tin can around the peas, the egg plant with a boiled egg and a salt shaker inside.
The viewers must have been stunned. Pure magic on the big screen.
