Surprised how much I enjoyed it

I watched it out of curiosity and for my respect of film but to my surprise I found myself actively enjoying the movie on an emotional level, not just simply appreciating it, intellectually, for the time it was made.

Yeah same, I watched it because as a sci-fi fan, I felt like I just had to see it expecting to be totally bored. It was a decent viewing, not as boring as I thought it'd have been.

May I ask you why you thought it would have been boring?

Probably because often think that older movies are boring, especially black and white ones.
