The origin of The Flintstones?

The origin of "The Flintstones" was the concept of putting "The Honeymooners" in cartoon form--the prehistoric angle made it different enough so the creators couldn't get sued for outright plagiarism. This wasn't the first time "caveman" life was used to send up modernity. I doubt the "Flintstones" makers would have been aware of what was no doubt a pretty well forgotten silent film by then, and/or that they were more influenced it by than a dozen other, better known movies.
