Murnau should be more known for this title, than Nosferatu. Faust is so much more enjoyable. Then again I was never big on Nosferatu. The visual effects were great, but not up to the quality as a whole like Faust.

Personally, I think Nosferatu will always be my favorite Murnau film. For one, I love Gothic horror (especially vampires) and, for another, it was my first Murnau film.
Still, side-by-side, Faust shows a clear progression of Murnau's development as a director. He had more money, a better cast, more experience and no need to hide its filming from any copywright owners, so I suppose it's only natural that Faust is somewhat superior.
I have the great Kino restored version of Nosferatu, but have a so-so VHS copy of Faust. I would love to see Faust in its restored splendor. It might be easier for me to pick it above Nosferatu in that event.
I bought a great copy of Faust on DVD off of Ebay. It was a Korean(bootleg im sure) copy though. All you have to do though is turn off the Korean subtitles and all is dandy.

I'll have to look for that. I've had good success with the Asian DVD's. I got Murnau's Sunrise and also Vidor's The Crowd like that. Supposedly they're not bootleg, but they're probably packaged by workers getting 10 cents a day or something.
Absolutely. Nosferatu is one of the most overrated movies ever made if you ask me. Herzog's version was better anyway, as far as I'm concerned. Faust comes second only to Sunrise in Murnau's arsenal.
I think Faust is a better film than Nosferatu too, but maybe I'm not being fair since Nosferatu was one of the first silent films I ever watched. I don't really think I fully appreciated silent films when I watched it. Plus I had a cheap copy.

Faust is better than Nosferatu, it's actually one of the best silents I've ever seen. A gripping story, great acting by Emil Jannings and the fabulous Camilla Horn, and incredible visuals make for one very fine movie.
