This one is rated 9.2/10 and is NOT under the best 250? Why?

The voting for this movie must be rigged. There's an 85% 10 vote, that's just insane, and can't be right.

It's not a terrible film, but it surely isn't really that good either. The Tom Brown character is just plain unsympathetic, even obnoxious and the way he 'gets the girl' in the end is a total cop-out. The one redeeming factor is Jack Pickford playing a very sensitive Jim Doolitle, and there's some nice shots of the football game, but that's about it. Nowhere near the best movie of the twenties.

It seems the "vandals" have indeed found this film.

Check-out the vote counts ... 254 out of 259 females age 45 and over rate this movie a 10 - i.e. 98% give it a 10 rating?

Of all female voters, 308 out of 332 rate the movie a 10, i.e. 92% of all female voters give it a 10 rating.

I don't think you'll find a more blatant example of vote-stuffing anywhere else on IMDb! These percentages are WAY outside of the statistical norm.

And the OP asks why this movie isn't on the top 250? Obviously somebody is going to great efforts to get this silent movie from 1926 onto the top 250 list.

You're right on. Makes me have doubts about any ratings now. The current female age 45 votes are 255 out of 262 for a 10. So since the previous post -- more than four months ago -- only 3 more have voted and only one of them was a 10.

Those are my principles, and if you don't like them ...well, I have others.
