Cast

Lon Chaney is my favorite silent screen actor, too bad he passed at 47.So many of his films have survived. He shows some weight gain,in this flick, but the many changing faces are there,as well as being handicapped once again.Loved Renee Adoree, and was sad to hear of her early death, and Irish born Owen Moore was so sexy, but also went, early.Lots of character faces, sets, and period details make this film interesting. The racist tone towards Chinese,at the time wasn't nice though.Loved, director Todd Browning,as well.

Agtee..this is one of Chaney's better films. The man was a master. And while it's true about 30 or so of his films have survived, there are unfortunately many, many more that haven't.

The Chinese were extremely racist people. They felt superior to everyone. When the Japanese defeated them in the 30's, this caused them to think they were the number one race and thus they could rule the world. It would have been an interesting match between the racial hatred of both Germany and Japan, if the Axis won the war.

Contrary to what you read or listen to in the media, the US is prejudiced not racist. Hopefully, when Trump wins in 2016, we can get rid of all this PC and get on with making America great again.
