How about a DVD double feature of both versions?

Both versions of this film (the original 1925 silent, and the 1930 sound remake) were wonderful vehicles for the legendary Lon Chaney. It would be great if Warner/MGM would give us a DVD double feature of both, as part of the Turner Classic Movies (TCM) collection.

Yes! I concur! The first Lon Chaney collection had to have been a success and the Unholy Three is one of his best movies. I hope the execs at Warners are reading/ listening they probably are you got to admit that Warner started out sloppily and have ended up being the premiere DVD company. The fact that 'Freaks' is out in a great edition, Citizen Kane, the Gangster flicks, and soon Kong will be making his appearance they rock for classic films.

It'd be nice because some of these actors have survived and it'd be cool to have some of their participation in the supplements. Or even a Chaney or Earles expert to do the commentary.

TCM is following your advice. The closed captioning of the sound version means it is almost certainly a high definition transfer.

Look at that. TCM, as always, plays the remake first, then the original. I wish just for once they would air things in the proper order.

Anyway, here it is years later. I DVRd the 1925 version on TCM on 12/17/2012. I didn't watch it and waited. Finally, on 4/1/2013, the 1930 version popped up on a Lon Chaney birthday tribute day. Good things come to those who wait.

Dude, I can't wait for someone to release those two movies on DVD. There should be another TCM Lon Chaney collection DVD set. That would be so awesome! But atleast we can watch the movies on TV.

I love that movie! Lon Chaney is ashamedly under-hyped. Personally, I prefer his 'straight' roles ie, Tell it to the Marines, HE who gets slapped the two Unholy Three's. He was so much more than the 'Phantom'.

Agreed.
