Not sure. The BFI have new restorations of all of Hitchcock's nine surviving silent films. The restored version of "The Lodger" comes out on the 24th September on blu-ray and dvd.
I saw the restored "Pleasure Garden" tonight at the bFI with a live performance of the new score.
All I can say is that the restored version is a revelation. The only version I had seen of this before was the God-awful Rohauer collection print, which runs just over an hour.
The restored footage brings back a decent rhythm and pacing to the story, and like the article you linked states, so many clever cinematic touches were cut out - not to mention that the title cards on the Rohauer version completely paraphrased what the original title cards said.
Really worth checking out - the new prints of all the silent hitchcocks look so gorgeous!
