Shown on TCM tonight.

The host's introduction states that as far as they know, this is the first television showing anywhere, ever.

Good quality print for its age so far.

Yes!
I also watched this film last night. Though I had never heard of "The Circle"
before seeing that it was the scheduled silent for the week. I hadn't looked it up here at IMDb as I normally would, but did see that it was directed by the great Frank Borzage and that Eleanor Boardman was one of it's stars; a name that any silent film fan would surely know considering her roles in, at least four, of the most aclaimed silent films of all time! What I didn't know at the time was that the rest of the cast included several other great's of the era along with a 20year old Joan Crawford who's movie career had begun in 1925, the year of this film, along with three others in the same year. I had seen her in a handful of silent films, but this is the earliest.
I will attempt to sum up my thoughts on this film by saying that it was very funny, with the entire cast adding some good moments, though the most entertaining moments came from the three lead "veterans of the theater" who's love triste from 30 years earlier had led to the end of one marriage and the begining of another. Also I thought the score was wonderful and complimented the humor perfectly! One last thing, the restored print looks great! for a movie that only runs an hour and could have easily held my attention longer, what a wonderful surprise! ...and I was prepared for a drama!!

---for those that missed it, and are fans of silent's and/or comedies, be sure to catch it on it's next airing!

I agree with everything you said! I loved it so much during the premiere TCM airing last June that I knew right away I needed to order myself a DVD copy from Warner Archive! THOROUGHLY enjoyable movie! As you pointed out, the three old-timers in this, in particular, are an absolute delight. That said, EVERYONE'S great in it! PS: To your comments, I'd like to add that, although from 1925, this movie still feels entirely fresh and undated.
