The Big Parade (1925) in iMDB's Top 250

The Big Parade is now #248th on iMDB.com's Top 250. Great to see this masterpiece getting some respect.

How nice. Obviously there ARE people out there who appreciate silent films and the contributions many silent films have added to the history of cinema in the twentieth century. So many moviegoers today are completely ignorant of the great influence silent films have had on movies in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. THE BIG PARADE is a true classic and certainly belongs on this list.

A film this monumental doesn't deserve to be on that atrocious list. Therefore, I would like to see it never again on IMDb's top 250 - which bares no significance on the stature and quality of a film. Also, it's a shame the vast majority that contribute to IMDb are ignorant film fanatics; who in their right mind would ever want to rate this film a "1" -- especially to keep what mediocrity that overfloods the IMDb 250 on the list?

It's baffling to me. They don't deserve to see this film.

I agree. "The Big Parade" is a masterpiece. The IMDb list of "Great Films" is laughable. You read these message boards and find so many readers criticizing a film such as "Lawrence of Arabia" as "boring", "impossible to sit through", "not well made" and you realize just how ignorant so many IMDb message Board readers are.

Now that IMDb have moved the goalposts to 25,000 it is highly unlikely this masterpiece will enter the Top 250 ever again.
