I was impressed at the binding job they did to make him look as if his leg really was missing. In one of the long shots, though, was a double used?
I love silent movies: the expressions, the little gestures. "We had faces" indeed!
I'm with you: I look hard and keep trying to see any evidence of John Gilbert's leg somewhere behind him, whenever I watch this movie, but can never spot any trace of it. Very convincing binding/concealing job!
