Location for cannibal scenes

Locations listed are San Fransisco and Lake Tahoe. Yet the scenes with the cannibals are clearly filmed on what appears to be a tropical beach with lots of palm trees. Any ideas where this might be? My guess is somewhere in Baja Mexico.

It looked like Catalina to me.

I agree, looked like Catalina w/prop palm trees. The retired ship was apparently anchored in Northern California awaiting disposal and it may have been towed south or filmed in the bay area.
