Hello fellow movie buff,

I have good new and bad news.
The bad news is, you won't find a DVD of this picture.
The good news is, you WILL find it on the website;

www.facets.org

It sells for $29.95 (plus shipping).
Hope you found this information helpful!
Now go collect and enjoy!

With regards,
Rich

Facets STINKS. Don't ever order from them. Their prints are horrendous.

You can pick up a tape of HE for 13 bucks at rarevideo.com

reply

REALLY? You sure bro? B/C I just checked there and the price there is the exact same as Facets.

where did you get this information? I can't find any mention of this anywhere.

i hope it's true. I've been desperate to own a decent quality copy of this film ever since i screened a 35mm print of it in college.

Thanks for the heads up. I will make sure to set the TiVO for this one.

I hope they've replaced the soundtrack with something better by now. A lot of people don't like the clapping one. It annoys them.

reply

It's going to be shown tonight on TCM. The best way to watch it is to turn the sound all the way down.I've watched it while listening to Pink Floyd's album
Meddle. As the picture progresses, the song Echoes really adds a kind of creepy
feel to it all! How ever you watch it, it's always a great flick!

You people act like London After Midnight is the only lost Chaney classic!

OK, I'll bite: What did you have in mind? "A Blind Bargain"? "The Miracle Man"? "Treasure Island"? "The Kaiser, the Beast of Berlin"?

reply

Everybody talks about "London After Midnight" as the Holy Grail of lost Chaney films, but honestly, "A Blind Bargain" sounds more interesting to me. Chaney plays a mad doctor and the apeman he creates; I'd love to see that.

As you may know, a reconstruction of "LAM" exists, and while I understand it isn't the same, it provides knowledge of what to expect. Plus, some surviving movie-goers from the 1920's have said it really wasn't all that great.

Yes, "ABB" might prove disappointing if it turned up, but I can't help but have a great desire to see it.
