This just screened on TCM and it was my first viewing. It's a gem! Toward the end, there are at least 2 spans of several seconds each, where the original film had been seriously degraded, perhaps by improper storage. White blobs of death filling up the frames, aieee! Seeing the brush with chemical death on this wonderful film made me appreciate it even more.

I agree but it helps to have seen"Intolrance" before this(as I did). you appreciate the Intercutting of the three stories better

Yeah, it happens right when he's scoring the touchdown too. It would have been tragic if we'd lost that moment. Frankly, I'm surprised people don't use that technique more often
