I have an original film of this movie

I found a 16 MM copy of this film in my Dad's shed. It is in a metal canister. Does it have any value?
It seems to be in perfect condition.

It is probably a dupe, but with any 16mm print, value depends on current quality. Contact me via email.

Please be aware that, being from the twenties, this film could be made of nitrate. Which is flammable. Worse, nitrate-fires can't be extinguished (water doesn't work and nitrate doesn't need air to burn).

So if this turns out to be an actual movie from the twenties, get it to an archive or a collector. Please don't throw it away.

However, it's on 16mm, which by law was always on safety stock.

However, often such early 16mm films were made from sliced 35mm nitrate films, so watch out.

16mm was never sliced off of nitrate. IB Technicolor prints were made from pre-spliced 35mm film, but it was always safety (ie. di or tri acetate stock). Because 16mm was considered a toy and educational format, legislature passed in the 1920s when it first showed up on the marked demanded that it be safety stock.
