The Maids Costume: An Anachronism?
Warning Shadows is set in Biedermeier Germany (c. 1815-1848). However, the costume of the maid in this film shows the woman’s legs. Is that an anachronism, or did maid’s outfits at the time show that much of the female body? Does anyone know?
