That's sad. Well, I for one enjoyed this film! Especially how the costumes were so Beardsley-esque. I can't picture the story in any other way. :D

Haven't seen Caligula. But that right there is still probably my favouritest discussion ever. Thank you.

I have been DYING to see this film for years (I love silents,) but have not found a DVD of it.

there are plenty of copies on half.com, though i got mine at a showing of nosferatu (with live musical accompaniment).

if you love silents this is a good pickup. the print is excellent and the other included film (lot in sodom) is also quite interesting. both of these films are highly stylized and "artsy". they don't make films like this anymore!

I had no idea what I was about to watch when I saw it. It's a one of a kind. It's filmed theater, but it's a true oddity. The slow pace, the overall weird atmosphere, the amazing costumes and backgrounds... Very special. No perfect though : what a weird (bad?) dancing number! It felt so out of this world.

I had never seen an adaptation of a Oscar Wilde play before.

I have no idea what it would have been like, seeing it in a theater, but the music on the DVD in wonderful!
