Well, I knew about the big sets for this film, but Damn!


The Castle interiors seem almost comically large but I love it! They say that Doug was intimidated by the size at first- he thought he'd be swamped by it all. I like the masculine, sort of brooding look that it has.

I simply must see this film. So far, I've seen his Musketeer films which were quite entertaining. It's fun to see how current movies happen to retool the ideas born from these classics.

It's in the Public Domain, and can be legally downloaded for free at places like Google Video (although the only version I found has Spanish subtitles).

I'm only 25 minutes into it right now, and despite those subs I'm enjoying it immensely.
