Shadow of the Vampire (2001)
I just saw SotV and was really impressed. I have also seen and loved the film "Vampyr" from the criterion collection which is from the same time period or just a bit later.
Do you think I would like Noferatu?

Not every scene in Nosferatu is set up exactly the way it was depicted in SOV. Still, it's a real hoot to watch the back-to-back ... in either order.
A good, restored version like the one from KINO is best...with the color tinting restored. If you can sit through Dreyer's 'Vampyr,' you'll have a blast watching Nosferatu...wonderfully done film.
I seen both of those movies. Here are my ratings.
Shadow of the Vampire (2000)- 9/10
Nosferatu, a Symphony of Horror (1922)- 6/10
I own Shadow of the Vampire (2000) and rewatched it, last October.
I've never been a fan of Nosferatu, a Symphony of Horror (1922). I think it's kinda overrated.
Volker Flenske: (While torturing David) I don't know why you're doing this to yourself!
