The DVD score
The score on the DVD and played on TCM is disappointing, to say the least. I wanted to say that if you can find the older Grapevine tape of this Lorna Doone it has a much nicer soundtrack on it, even if it was canned.
shareAt first, I enjoyed the music for the 2001 presentation quite a bit, but then eventually I realized that Mari Iijima didn't so much score the film as write a few pieces for it, which were repeated several times each without variation. It's the repetitiveness that made the music disappointing for me.
