Aurora model?

Does anyone else remember the old Aurora monster models from the early 1960s?
I had them all as a kid and did a good job on them. My dad 'encouraged' me to 'grow up' and I 'chucked them' as an adult. Dumb move, because they'd now be worth HUNDREDS of $$$. I paid $300 for a finished Phantom of the Opera in the last few years. Anyway, Aurora I guess wanted to go feminist and included the Bride of Frankenstein and 'The Witch' in its 'monster mash'. But what is the Witch patterned after? Does she relate to any specific film? Hmm. I don't know, but she DOES look rather like 'Heksen' (the first witch)in "Haxan" stirring her pot. Maybe somebody at Aurora had seen this film. Anybody- comments. Thanx, HJ

I know this is an ancient post, but I had to reply, so I hope you see it Jonesh54.

I had most of the Aurora horror models (UK versions) and the Witch was one I really loved. I am pretty sure that it did not correspond to any particular movie (much as The Forgotten Prisoner of Castlemare, another Aurora classic, did not). Remember the bubbling cauldron with subtle suggestions of unpleasant objects being stirred into it?

The boxes were always amazing for these models. Then they brought out the glow-in-the dark versions and the artwork changed - square boxes - still good, but not as good as the originals.

My models had a similar fate - my parents gave them away to someone when I was at that "I don't really care too much" adolescent phase. I now regret it and wish I still had them all. Still, there are photos out there on the net we can look at and remember...

I hope you rubbed that in his nose.
