Melior?
When Wenk is under Dr. Mabuse's spell, we keep seeing the word Melior flashing across the screen. What is the purpose of this?
This world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel.
It was the name of the place Mabuse ordered the hypnotized Wenk to drive to: the Melior Quarry. It was meant to show that Wenk was dominated by Mabuse's command to drive there and kill himself - there was nothing else in his mind.
Flat, drab passion meanders across the screen!
