Differences between Image/M2K DVDs and the original version?

Hopefully somebody can help me with this one...

I've been wanting to see The Kid for quite some time, but I'm a bit uncertain about picking it up on DVD (and about which version I should pick up on DVD, if any).

First things first, since the M2K release is the version that Chaplin prepared in the early 70s....does it have narration in place of the intertitles, like Chaplin did with the re-release of The Gold Rush (at least they did include the "restoration" of the silent version on the Gold Rush DVD), or are there still intertitles?

Also, what does the Image DVD use for a soundtrack? Are there any differences between the Image DVD and the original version of the film?

Thanks in advance

Don't Worry Kiddo, no narration here. The two DVD's are virtually identical, save for the frame rate, and the scenes deleted for the 1971 re-release( which are on the extras disc). Go for the MK2 disc.

Thanks for straightening that out for me.
