The Flying Dog.

Everytime I watch "The Kid" with friends, they always get a big kick out of the scene in the dreamland sequence where the dog with wings lands and then flies away. They always laugh really hard and then they ask me to back up that scene a couple times.

yeah, I love that scene too. Oh, and I know that quote that you have, it sounds familiar but what movie is it from?

It's from a speech from Reagan. Or from "Back To The Future," however you want to look at it.

I love the whole dream sequence anyway. But the dog part is hilarious.

Yeah, it's so funny! I'm really afraid of dogs. My friend knows about it and always makes jokes about it. Now imagine us (me and my friend) watching this scene for the first time... I laugh every time I think about it!

laughed out loud, and admittedly replayed the scene again. hah.

look at that, "Family Love Michael"

reply

HAHA that was, without a doubt, my favorite part. The whole movie was excellent, though.

Just saw the film for the first time and busted a gut at that flying dog. How it just swoops in and out is hilarious, and Chaplin's confused look completely sells it. Brilliant.

i didn't really like the dream sequence as a whole but the flying dog cracked me up.

The flying dog was great. I laughed pretty hard at that. But what I liked even more was Charlie flying at full Superman speed after that girl. "Getting Flighty" indeed.

reply

Yes. I wish I knew how to click "like" on your post. I agree. That bewildered little dog behaved well as it was lifted in and out of the scene.
