The Apartment!!!!

Pretty wild....I do wonder what the neighbors were thinking....

Hummm....I didn't know "La Traviata" was based on "Camille"....I like "La Traviata" better than this version however, the first "Camille" I have seen. There are differences but will not supply spoilers.... IMO a great rendition of La Traviata is the 1983 renditon (as it isn't a recording of a staged opera, but more like a movie)....with Teresa Stratas, Plácido Domingo & Cornell MacNeil.

Rudolf Valentino's wife, Natacha Rambova, did the designs.

You should see the Garbo film of Camille.

Thanks for the info!!!! I do have the Garbo film, but it seems when I find it I'm not in the mood for it.

Marguerite's bedroom was odd with see through gauze curtains between it and the living room.

Weird! I thought I saw some stains, I don't know if it was water stains or glue stains, but they seem to run horizontal along the walls. I couldn't get into the design.

The Garbo and the Valentino versions are now on one DVD

And there's a 1967 movie version of LA TRAVIATA with Anna Moffo.

I'm the kind of guy, when I move - watch my smoke. But I'm gonna need some good clothes though.

Nazimova was strange, and that wild hair. She was ahead of her time with her set designs. The apt.was very odd, also I love curtains draping an entrance way.The casino was different with the band,up in a little alcove.I thought Valentino was somewhat miscast in this....
