I like that scene where Buster Keaton's character calls for help via morse code:
-S.O.S.
-Who is it?
-Damfino
-NEITHER DO I!
Then, the guy answering the calls gets ticked off and he throws the telegraph machine at the floor.

The bits where Keaton tries to use a crooked telescope and where he seals a hull breach with a rock-solid pancake are funny as heck.

I feel silly that i didnt get the morse code joke. Anyone kind enough to explain please? Thanks.

I think "Damfino" is pronounced (or sounds like) "Damn if I know".

I could be wrong, but I that's how I interpet it and I think it's funny. :)

I got answers from the buster keaton board. It's like you said, bioniceyes04. Hillarious! Thanks bud!

Now I get it too. Thank you! I just love that scene. Buster's hair gets so messy and out of character that it actually looks quite modern. Anyone else think so as well?

The floating anchor was pretty funny.

It took me a couple of seconds also and I'm still laughing.

When his wife asks "Where are we?" (something like that) at the very end, does Buster repeat the joke by replying "Damn if I know." There was no dialogue card but that was my take on it.

Yes, he clearly says "Damfino" in response to her asking where they are. Pretty funny stuff - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Udq6VV_yO d8#t=547s

I like it how sometimes they don't use dialogue cards, just leaving viewers to read the lips. And it works :)
I think what makes Damfino joke even funnier is that there is no way to mistake ''damfino'' for ''damn if I know'' when you're using MORSE CODE...
And, I loved the floating anchor! There are many ways one can react to this, and Buster just sits down and ponders the absurdity of the situation.

Buster was just an absolute genius, master of the visual gags! :-)
