Title of the music at the beginning?

I will admit that I'm not too experienced with silent films and I don't know how music was done, so I don't know if it's random known pieces or composed or whatever. Still though, I watched this on TCM the other night and the music at the very beginning was hauntingly beautiful. I loved it!

The music looped through cycles of about 5 scores, I believe. It's the very first music, the music playing when the doctors are discussing the amputation and he's still a boy, that I'm interested in.

I would love to know what it is and how I can get a copy of it.
