The Time -

What TCM is showing on 1/26/09 has the upper and lower portions of the screen cut off. The time (opening credit joke) says, "That never to-be-forgotten period when cloves, cork-screws and foot-rails went..." and the rest is cut off. Does anyone know what the rest of the line is?

I'm assuming that the cork-screws and foot-rails has to do with Prohibition, but what do cloves have to do with bars prior to Prohibition going into effect?

...out of fashion." when they say cloves they mean clove cigarettes.

Is this the real life, is this just fantasy?-Freddie Bulsara
