But next time you watch the "summoning" scene, and when the lightning bolts start raining down, slow your DVD player way down and you can see words hidden in the bolts!

Actually, it depends on which edition/print of the film you're watching.
Some prints (like the restored KINO edition) include the painted/scratched in bolts spelling out the word of life, while others (frequently the unrestored public domain prints) do not.
Not sure if the bolts were some special effect overlay that not all prints had or what, but it was a neat effect the first time I spotted it.
