I don't understand this joke - "She was down the course when the first three passed the post in the Beauty Contest."
Any ideas?
I just watched it on TCM (some newly restored version supervised by Lloyd's granddaughter) and the intertitle was:
The Neighbor's Wife
has never been mistaken for Cleopatra
A little late but think horse racing to get the Beauty Contest joke. She's ugly.
