How audiences have matured!

The review in which the ultra-canny reviewer refers to the "naive" audience of 95 years ago and boasts of not being duped by Mary's supposed age of 13 is food for thought. If only that audience had known how naive it was, and how their naïveté would be so devastatingly exposed on IMDb a century later, Mary's career would almost certainly have ended there and then, and that reviewer would have been spared the painful duty of apprising us of his singular insight into this movie!
